Family traditions

Family traditions

With Halloween right around the corner, I just wanted to share some fun ideas and traditions that my kids and I do.

We love to Boo people, it's pretty easy, and all it takes is one trip to the 99-Cent Store. Ideas for the bags are gags, candy, and if it's for older kids, you can get some cute witch headbands or Halloween earrings. Basically, take the Halloween bag with all the goodies and tricks, and then you knock on the door, and you run (Ring has complicated things haha). They will have to post the Boo sign that you made copies of on their door, and they will boo another neighbor. I have attached a photo, and link to make it easy.

Every holiday we make a treat and a craft. Yes, even my 11-year-old still does this. It's all about traditions and getting them excited about holidays and what they mean. I even decorate my car with bat ears. The whole family dresses up, and we also choose one dog a year to wear a costume. When we carve pumpkins, we eat donuts with fangs and eyes, and drink cider. I have found that kids forget very quickly, but when you do it all the time as a tradition, they are more likely to remember. As my kids get older, they ask me when we will do certain traditions, and that makes my heart full. Happy fall, and have a safe and Happy Halloween. Enjoy a few photos from our past Halloween's
